A Jovian Salutation

Description

Hey, everybody. My apologies for the long absence; things have gotten very busy since August. I can't say for sure whether or not I'll be able to return to regular uploads, but I'll do my best to check in more frequently with the occasional astrofoto.

With respect to the this image, Jupiter and moons were putting on quite the show last night. A fair amount of turbulence can be seen in the Southern Equatorial Belt near the Great Red Spot, along with what appears to be a small white oval just below it. From top to bottom, Ganymede, Europa, and Callisto started off in a sort of isosceles triangle pattern before settling into this near-vertical line towards the end of the session.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature decided to make this session exciting by sending in high, diffuse clouds to distort the image. This prevented me from focusing as precisely as I would've liked, which may have deprived us of more fine details in the cloudtops.
